The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course is the only public golf course in Hong Kong, on Kau Sai Chau island off Sai Kung. It has three 18-hole courses. The Gary Player-designed North Course (6,719 yards) has a links feel and is walking only. The Player-designed South Course (5,906 yards) is the shortest, can be walked or played by cart, and offers twilight and nine-hole rounds in the afternoon. The East Course by Nelson & Haworth (6,640 yards) is hilly and played by cart only.

Tee times are booked online through the KSC website or by phone through the automated booking line on 2791 3380. To get there, travel to Sai Kung town and take the dedicated golf course ferry from the public pier. Club rental is available, and denim, singlets and open-toed shoes are not allowed.

KSC also runs junior and adult coaching programmes from beginner to advanced level, which makes it the natural first stop for visitors and new golfers in Hong Kong.

Weekend tee times go fast. Book ahead and check the visitor rules.
