Loch Palm Golf Club is a par-71 course of about 6,000 yards from the blue tees, laid out around a large lake below a ring of hills in Kathu. Its MBK owners call it the most relaxing course on the island, and it is popular with residents for early-morning rounds, which the club encourages players to finish in 3½ hours.
The course is ten minutes from Patong and Phuket Town and 25 km from the airport, next door to Red Mountain Golf Club. Caddies are compulsory.
The club offers junior golf, and accommodation inside the golf community ranges from apartments to MBK's Tinidee Golf Resort.
Weekend tee times go fast. Book ahead and check the visitor rules.
