Orchid Country Club, owned by NTUC Club, has a 27-hole championship course made up of three nines named after orchids: Aranda, Dendro and Vanda. It runs along the Lower Seletar Reservoir and has hosted the Singapore Open (1999) and the Handa Singapore Classic (2010, 2011). The club says it is the only course in Singapore that offers night golf.
Visitors book by emailing the golf registration counter ([email protected]), with the visitor booking window opening on Thursdays from 12pm to 2pm for the following week. Published visitor green fees are S$250.70 on weekdays and S$359.70 on weekends and public holidays, including GST; buggy, walker and night-golf fees are extra. Visitors without a valid handicap must pass a S$10.90 Certification to Play test first.
Club rental is available through the MST Golf Shop at the driving range, and the club lists resident golf coaches. A shuttle bus runs from Yishun MRT. It suits visitors who want a flexible, mid-priced round in the north of the island.
Weekend tee times go fast. Book ahead and check the visitor rules.
