Orchid Country Club's driving range is one of the largest in Southeast Asia, with 160 bays on two levels. The sheltered lower level has 80 computerised bays with an automatic tee-up system operated by smart card, which the club says is the only auto-tee system in Singapore; the upper level has 80 manual bays.
Visitors pay S$0.11 per ball using a driving range card, which can be bought and topped up until 10.30pm. Bays 1 to 40 are reserved for members, and the rest are shared with visitors, academies and golf pros. The range is open Tuesday to Sunday 7am to 11pm and Monday 12pm to 11pm, with lights off at 11pm.
The MST Golf Shop at the range rents clubs, and the club lists resident golf coaches. Golf attire or sports shoes are expected. It suits golfers in the north who want a big, inexpensive range open late.
Weekend tee times go fast. Book ahead and check the visitor rules.
